On this evening’s (Dec 1) Live Show on The Voice, Rob Cole, one of Reba’s team, sang Lee Ann Womack’s I hope you dance.
That song took me back to Ardmuckmish Bay on Scotland’s west coast. Many years ago, we spent a couple of weeks in a house on that bay. It was beautiful and always so peaceful.
But the day we were leaving, it became a roaring monster. With help from the wind, its waves in rapid succession crashed and exploded on the shore.
For one last look at the beach, I walked down to stand closer to the water, watching as the powerful waves broke upon the shore.
Coming from the High Desert of the Oklahoma Panhandle, I had never seen anything like that. It was an absolutely amazing sight. As I stood there watching and listening, the words from Lee Ann Womack’s song I hope You Dance came to mind.
“I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean”
And I certainly did.
