We’ve read the book…

Joseph a prisoner

When life hands you setbacks and things don’t seem to be going your way, think on Joseph in Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Broadway and London West End production.

Joseph, his father’s favorite son you will remember, was sold by his brothers to a roving band of Ishmeelite traders who took him to Egypt.

Joseph, through no fault of his own, ends up in an Egyptian prison. He wasn’t treated well.

The scene in the play depicts Joseph withering away in the harsh environment of the prison.

The lyrics of the chorus of the accompanying song I’m reminded say, “Joseph, Joseph, we’ve read The Book, and it turns out alright.”

Joseph, because of his great management skills and his God, eventually becomes Vice-Pharoah of Egypt able to save his brothers and the Hebrew nation from a certain starvation.

“Read all about it” in Genesis 37-50. So suck up your loincloth and get on with it.
