Memorial Day 05/26/2025
A group of older former service members, now American Legion members, gathered at 6 a.m. at Loves Country store in Hooker OK.
Their mission: To erect poles and flags at the local cemetery. This year it had rained overnight and probably would again, so we just put poles and flags down the center aisle and the four corners. But that’s still a lot of work for a bunch of old guys.
One image illustrates we hadn’t brought enough flags and had to go back to the Legion Hall to get more.
In addition to the old guys, there was a grandson in our group and Brad James 4-H Club. We appreciate their help.
We also honor our Fallen Warriors with a firing squad and presentation of The Colors at both the Tyrone and Hooker cemeteries later in the morning.
