I felt proud….

I was proud today. (April 11, 2026)

I don’t often sit around feeling proud, but this morning I did.

Thanks to Breitbart News, I was able to sit and watch Artemis II from orbit to splashdown, and then the crew on the ship.

My pride was in our nation, and its team of administrators, engineers and technicians.

The mainstream media paints our nation in such a negative way there’s little room for something as old-fashioned as pride. One has to work at it to be proud.

But not this morning. I was proud.

I was also proud too of our Navy. I was a proud part of it at one time back in the day, and still take pride in it.

The ship, the small boats, the pilots, the sailors, the divers all playing their part while the world watched.

I was reminded of President Truman’s words, It is amazing what you can accomplish “if you do not care who gets the credit”

Full disclosure: I was in the Navy for seven years but was never on a ship. Our little group did “interesting” stuff: just not visible and not at sea.

But still, I’m proud.
